Unfortunately since adding code to enforce Kinsta’s policy was a requirement for them to allow UpdraftPlus to be installed on their servers, we cannot with integrity advise users on how to by-pass it. > Does anyone know how to reset the restriction? Secondly, since it’s *their* policy, their support reps really should explain their policy to you and note your feedback to it, rather than distancing themselves from it and suggesting you go somewhere else to talk about it. It only requests that, if you dislike the limit, you speak to Kinsta support about it (it’s their policy, not ours, that is its cause – therefore they’re the people to talk to about it – we do not write their policies). Firstly, our notice does not say that Kinsta can provide a mechanism for resetting the counter. I think that is not too helpful a response, for two reasons. > “Unfortunately, the error message is misleading as we have no way of resetting that counter to allow the generation of additional backups” I think their support team member has not really hit the target by saying this: Once you’ve taken a main backup, you can then add as many increments as you like. If I remember rightly, you can take unlimited *incremental* backups. So, from our point of view, we had the choice to either not implement their required policy (which would mean nobody could use it), or implement it (though unfortunately with the result that you can’t use it as much as you might like). Once we implemented what they had specified, they then allowed their users to install UpdraftPlus (before, it was banned). This we did, in response to their provided specification. Kinsta decided to allow UpdraftPlus on their platform only if we implemented a limit on the number of backups it took. Good afternoon, and thank you for using UpdraftPlus!
